Only a gun-lover could describe 11,624 homicides using the word 'only'. What you have done is take all the numbers out that you possibly can to end up with a figure that is still appalling. It even takes out accidental deaths which is a large number. When pete quoted the NRA as the 'gold-standard' in statistics regarding gun deaths you know that his credibility is long-gone.
