I like using dvd::rip, which I run in Fedora 11. It's great
for ripping DVDs, so I can store them on a WD 750 gig
my-book hard drive. I then use Twonky Media Server, (eg
Myth TV), to make all the movies on the my-book HD available
to my Sony PS3, which outputs the selected movie to a
Samsung High Definition TV over a HDMI connection.

The Sony Play Station 3 connects to the Twonky Media Server,
running in Fedora 11, over the local network using UPnP. It
makes for a great multimedia system, and just browsing all
the movie on the 750 gig hard drive using the PS3 remote
control is much more convenient that hunting through a bunch
of physical DVD cases to find a movie to watch, and then
needing to actually insert a DVD in the PS3.
