There is a reason our Founders chose a republican over purely democratic form of government, namely, because pure democracies devolve into tyrannies, as mobs are worked over by demagogues who grab more and more power to themselves in the name of giving the hoi polloi what they want. When we started pimping "democracy" around the world is when world tyranny started becoming a real threat to our sovereignty. Yes, I confess guilt insofar as I supported certain presidents with the same delusions. I repent of it, and will never vote for another one-world, "democracy uber alles" clod again. If we survive this rising tyranny as a free republic, that is. > > 2) As if there have not been countless tyrants not only endorsing US > presidents but also actively supported (to the point of organizing the > coups that put them in power) by them. It's true, we've supported some pretty unsavory characters, and have had presidents with shit for brains. It's been awhile since we've had a president who wasn't into the glory of world realpolitik. But Obama is as far as I can tell the first with truly totalitarian blood coursing through his veins. Which is why he high-fives thugs like Chavez, bows -- literally bows -- to autocrats like the Saudi King, and only pretends to be cool to love-struck admirers like Quadaffy. Now he's going to be the first US president to chair the Security Council of the UN. To see a complete political novice rise to such power so quickly based on a cult of personality -- when the guy doesn't even have just one personality, but apparently two, i.e. the optimistic Barack and the evil terrorist-palling Barry -- what more sign of a dictator with global ambitions do you need to see? > > Jesus, I'd love to debate with an intelligent Rep.
