Desktop apps are not going away any time soon.  With my clients, they 
love the fact that I'm giving them a great, responsive, feature-rich 
desktop app, and it's using the database on the web, so as long as 
there's a security certificate for the domain, we're safe and golden. 
They love it.  I love it.  Win-win.
