Hey nick, how would you handle this?

1. Customer's computer won't boot, says it has a missing mup.dll

Do you a - quote him a worst-case price?
b - charge him by the hour?

I'm in the middle of a real time-consumer. The setup-> repair option is not
available while booting from the Windows XP CD that came with the HP MAchine.

Running the recovery console I thought I fixed it. It booted, then this
morning it was once again dead.

I tried copying files from the computer but got "access denied" errors in
recovery console. I hear this is because there wasn't a security policy set up
before the computer crashed.

Of course now I'm getting, "I could have bought a new computer for the price
you're charging me". Which is true, but it's also true that a funeral is
cheaper than Chemo.

To make matters worse, Carbonite didn't seem to backup some files thinking they
were windows system files.

What a mess.
