Got any Windows 7 workstations on that network? Because this sounds to me like a recognised index corruption problem with SMB2.1 and Visual FoxPro.
SMB2.1 being the new version of Microsoft's network transport - if a Vista or 7 box is connected to a Windows Server 2008, they will use SMB2.1 by default, but unfortunately this causes index corruption. So you either have to turn off SMB2.1 on the client or the server. This link describes the problem and the registry entries: http://www.caseware.com/support/caseknowledge/file-corruption-when-using-windows-vista-windows This is pretty worrying because at the minute you can force it back to SMB1 as described above, but what's to stop MS removing legacy SMB compatibility somewhere down the line? Then you can forget about VFP apps on Server 2008 / Win 7 networks. -- Alan Bourke alanpbourke (at) fastmail (dot) fm _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
