We use apache2 on Win2000 and it works great with asp and html. No need to 
worry about constant faulty upgrades like
crapsta. We like Apache2triad for a complete installation. Try it.

It is just that I own an unused copy of 7, and I don't have one of XP.
My "dead" computer was W2K, which I leave behind with reluctance.

What I think I'll do is set up Apache on my Linux box and use that for
local testing. I want to learn how to do that anyway, and it seems
like a more worthwhile investment of my time (as I am switching to
Linux as my "main" platform).
