The phone number that is stored in the remote phonebook is the one the VZ
Access manager uses to phone home, not the one that is assigned to the
modem....

Oh well, thanks for trying.

John

John:
Look at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk\Rasphone.pbk
Under DEVICE=modem you will see the PhoneNumber that is the default for the
modem In Win98 this was stored in the registry and Win2K and newer this is
stored in this text file (but I am not sure about Vista...) Regards,

Jack Skelley

Subject: RE: Pulling USB phone modem number programmatically

I've been trying to find a way to discover the phone number associated with
a usb modem programmatically. We have Pantech UM175 USB modems that use VZ
Access manager for communications in our squad cars, and I have wmi code
that gives me the ip address, but I haven't been able to find anything that
gives me the phone number, either through wmi or com or reading the
registry. Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks,

John Harvey
