They have plenty of available housing in those apartments in Chernobyl. That was only 25 years ago and no problem there. For every energy that we consume there is a negative factor we have to deal with. Coal is ugly for the air and it's burn ash is nasty as well, on short term basis. NG & Oil burning is cleaner when compared to coal. Learning how to achieve power from solar is a next greatest step we can take. It is limited by clouds.
