AllowCellSelection is .f. and columns[n].readonly=.t. 
Doesn't make any difference to the row highlight though?

All very strange.

Graham,

The currently selected field displays white on blue. The rest of the row
displays white on black.

If the user doesn't need to edit the row:
.AllowCellSelection = .F.
