(1) But I didn't really know which directory of the J distribution to search in. Had I known which one, I could just have looked directly (outside J)!
(2) No, at least in jqt, I see no way to specify a directory in which to search: the Find in files dialog initiated from the Edit menu has a spin control choice of "In Folder" limited to Demos, Projects, User.
