labs are pretty easy without author.  Open one in any editor, and you should 
grasp the format fairly quickly.  The J6 lab author lab is helpful even if you 
don't use lab author.  I believe you could also use J6 lab author even if the 
code is not for J6 (ie. the lab format hasn't changed)
