"It" being the & derived verb.

In other words, this also does not crash J:

   cocurrent^:0 ''

But this does:

   cocurrent&'' 0

So I expect that &'s implementation of ^:0 is interacting badly with 18!:4.

It would be fun to track down exactly why this is happening...
