I hadn't realised that jconsole looks for ghostscript, which isn't
properly
installed on this laptop. So I changed the config link to point to adobe
reader. So, now that the config link points to an installed program,
I agree with Fraser: the pdf is ok for plot i.10 and plottest with two
lines,
but shows an empty graph for plottest with only one line.
I haven't investigated Bill's thoughts about #v or #s .

(presumably not for earlier Windows!)
