Plot has not worked for me for months, but Linda' boat did work! WOW.
Trying
plot 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2
provided an error message from which I could not return. I had to kill J using
Ctrl-Alt-Del.
Am I the only one having this problem?

On android, plot generates a PDF to a fixed-name temporary file and then
invokes whichever PDF viewer is set as the system default.
In my experience though, Bill's suggestion generally works. The Android
back button should dismiss that viewer and incidentally return control to
J, assuming that you didn't invoke other applications while the viewer was
active.
If you want to change the behaviour of your viewer, either install another
PDF viewer (there are a lot of them in the play store) and set it as the
default viewer for that type, or configure the viewer you are already
using.
