It works as long as the session has not had active use of locales. It fails if any of the needed locales have been erased. Using cocreate to ensure that sufficient locales have been created is a neat idea, it just didn't go far enough. Reverting to the simpler form and adding a caution that the code expects a fresh J session might be adequate.
