Hi Maurice, With respect to finding the documentation on the wiki, have you looked at https://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/Plot and in particular https://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/Plot/Options
A lot of the fine tuning of Plot seems to be done through pd. The Development section of the plot page may also give you some useful information. My apologies if you have already looked at them and found them wanting, but when you said you did not find the doc in the wiki, I just wanted to be sure that you were aware of these.
