OK - but for pedagogical purposes it's simpler to provide one thing rather
than deal with where to save an auxiliary file and how to subsequently load
it.

Also, even a utility could include an example use function.

The idea is that  r_pl  is a utility.  It abstracts away the
read/print/loop interface, and allows you to plug in an arbitrary evaluation
function.  It should be in a seperate script.
