|BegQ?
|Is it way of saying that my question is more important than other?
I've been using "BegQ" as an abbreviated ("terse" ;) ) form of "Beginner
Question". In a sense, it's actually a way of saying that my question
is *LESS* important than other, more "professional" questions that
appear here.
|Otherwise the subject is well-written, and should perfectly
|suffice the purpose without embelishment.
When I first started asking "beginner" questions here, I got responses
that were the equivalent of "RTFM" in both content and tone, which
almost gave the impression that I shouldn't be asking my questions.
(However, as I've stated several times, J's documentation is great for
those in the know but leaves MUCH to be desired when it comes to
newbies.) However, because I needed to know (and there is no other
"live" avenue of discourse, unless someone like NYCJUG would open
themselves to emailed beginner questions), I persisted--but chose to
alert readers who might want to skip over my questions because these
might be beneath their interest level or what they feel is appropriate
for the forum. If the forum feels that "BegQ" is an unnecessary alert
on my part, I'm perfectly happy not to use it. ;)
