An idea (maybe a bad one) to use a media player without an original GUI. I use Audacity but I wanted to define my own GUI with J.
Anyway, I am not sure ir's a good idea...but...???why not ?

Is there any way to play mp3 files from J ? I just need a trackbar and a
start/stop button. I have looked at the wav addon and I am wondering if I
have to convert my mp3 files to wav files...

media/wav was not exactly meant as a media player :-)
not that there's anything wrong with it.
It has a play-all for quick review, but primarily
it is for loading and saving sound as data in its
simplest form.

But why not use system media player or Audacity?
What are your use cases?
