For Windows, gvim installs in \Program Files\Vim\ in which there is no soft-link, so the following directory has risk of detachment during upgrade: \Program Files\Vim\vim71\ In that directory, make the same mods to filetype.vim Then in the subdirectory \Program Files\Vim\vim71\syntax\ copy the j.vim file. Now J syntax highlighting works for Windows too. I hope my personal settings on my personal computer helps others find theirs.
