I have two computers running 64-bit Windows 7. The desktop is somewhat
faster so I start long-running jobs on it while I edit programs on the
laptop. However, one program that ran perfectly on the laptop halted on
the desktop with a file name error, which I traced to the fact that a file
that was being accessed had never been written.  This is sporadic;
sometimes it works fine, sometimes not.

Is there any Windows or J setting that I need to adjust to make sure all
files get written to the proper folder before later being accessed?

Thanks in advance,

Richard Vaughan
