Hi Blake - that's a road I've been down: it gets you off to a quick start but glosses over some of the important differences between APL and J.
Your best bet is to start with the vocabulary page and figure it out yourself - either http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/Vocabulary or http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/NuVoc.
