I've been in R land for a while, but I'm back to J for a few things I want (and need) to do.
Aside: I much prefer J to R, but they do have some nice packages. Then again, sometimes, if one thinks, one can do rather directly in J what one needs a package to do in R. :-) I don't have a working J602 GTK on my Debian Squeeze, probably because of a Java issue (I do think I have Sun Java installed, but it's probably not aliased to what J602 wants). Thus I'm trying to learn enough quickly about J701 to see if it does what I need. I'm trying some labs, but I can't find the keyboard shortcut for "advance." It seems to suggest "Ctrl-.", which I interpret to mean "Hold the control key down and then press the full stop key." That would seem to parallel what I recall from J6, but it doesn't do anything for me here. The 'a' menu pick works just fine. What am I missing? What should I do to advance a lab? FWIW, my keyboard is set to Dvorak layout, but switching to QWERTY doesn't seem to help. Thanks, Bill PS: What I really want to do is figure out how to load a script file I wrote for J6. Quick pointers would be great. -- Bill Harris Facilitated Systems http://makingsense.facilitatedsystems.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
