Dear Douna,
Thanks for your interest in CDS-Invenio.
The software does not support the right to left languages yet.
There has been interest in developing such support from a few institutes in the past (like IAEA), but this is not part of the package yet.

As you can read from the distribution site, at <http://cdsware.cern.ch/invenio/i18n/>, many languages are supported (as Invenio relies on Unicode) but the indexing of right to left sentences would require some specific developments. CERN will not implement it but we will support any kind of collaboration to help in this direction.

With best regards,
 JY Le Meur

Good morning, and thanks for your answers

We're a team working for a research centre in Algeria and we are interesting in your platform (CDS Invenio). It's one of the most interesting platforms we've seen so far. Nevertheless there are some information we want to get about it and that isn't mentionned in the site. so my questions are as follows: Is your platform take into consideration Arabic language (and its punctuation)?

how to index non-english documents (arabic)?

how to apply stemmers principal on non-english languages (arabic)?

we must say that arabic documents constitute most of our production and we would be glad if such fonctionnalities exist.
Thanks in advance.

Regards
