Let me explain our situation first. We are currently running cdsware version
0.71 and it has been running for several years without problem. Until recently
we started a NEW installation of 0.99 on the same server. Ideally, we want to
install 0.99 without any impact on the current running 0.71. We plan to stop
0.71 only after 0.99 has been fully tested and all the documents have been
migrated from 0.71.
To install 0.99, we started by running the following command to install the
necessary packages:
sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-python2.3 \
apache2-mpm-prefork mysql-server-4.1 mysql-client-4.1 \
python2.3-mysqldb python2.3-4suite \
python2.3-xml python2.3-libxml2 python2.3-libxslt1 \
rxp gnuplot xpdf-utils gs-common antiword catdoc \
wv html2text ppthtml xlhtml clisp gettext
However, after running this command, some problem is with 0.71 now. After I
submit a new document, the document seems to be uploaded because I can see the
document by typing the URL: http://***/search.py?recid=123&ln=en. But, if I do
a search, or browse the corresponding collection, the submission is NOT there.
Does anyone know why this happen? Is it because we updated the library related
to XML parsing or because we updated the mysql from 4.0 to 4.1? Where should we
start to debug this problem?
