Hi everyone,

I am testing invenio for our institute. I first want to congratulate the team
for his very good work. The software is very fast on commodity hardware.

My setting is the following:

#1 machine

Platform: Linux

System: Gentoo 2.6.15-gentoo-r1

Machine: #2 SMP PREEMPT i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.00GHz GenuineIntel
GNU/Linux

Purpose: Web Application Server

Runnig: cds-invenio v0.99.1

Clock: GT-1

#2 machine

Platform: Linux

System: Gentoo 2.6.11-hardened-r15

Machine: #1 i686 Pentium II (Klamath) GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Purpose: Database Server

Runnig: mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.26, for pc-linux-gnu (i686) using readline
5.0

Clock: GT

I have everything up and running. I upload the sample datas and I started
modifying the portalbox contents, adding some external OAI data source and so
on.

I run into the following problem: webcoll (running in the scheduler) doesn't
update the cache. I had to run a one time task that force the cache update
(webcoll -f).

I have the following questions:

How and when is webcoll updating the cache?

Are the timestamp taken from the database server or from the application server?

Do I need a clock synchronisation (by ntpd for example)?

Thanks in advance
