It's on the radar, but it's nice-to-have for now. Currently I'll just be redirecting users to http://crosscite.org/citeproc/ which uses CSL, and since all content in Zenodo will have DOIs it solves the problem. Unfortunately you cannot call the service with a DOI parameter, so users will have to copy/paste themselves until CSL has been implemented in Zenodo. I didn't know of http://ws.gbv.de/csl/ but it definitely looks interesting. All code for the DOI citation formatter is publicly available and easy to get up and running, but i'm not sure it's easily integrateable with Invenio.
DOI is probably simple, but at our instance we tend to have a lot of stuff that does not have a DOI nor will ever get one. (Talks, Posters, "unpublished" papers like preprints, books, book chapters etc.) Additionally, we have to feed webpages with publications of institutes like these pages: http://www.fz-juelich.de/pgi/pgi-1/EN/Service/Publikationen/2012/_node.html Currently, I do this by a format element, and you get what we deliver. CSL sounds like a clever alternative to avoid work.
