 work, and that I don't see *me* doing it in the near future -- the
 other GNOME folks you mailed might though; in fact I might provide help
 for some stuff in this project; I can't commit to it, that's all. ]

 Ok; I thought KDE and GNOME had been ranked out, as I read in an IRC
 meeting log of the project.

 So, how does it happen?  Is there a staging archive before it's
 released?  What's the timeline to select versions for this half
 release?  Any policies / guidance pages?  Same as for backports?
