OK amended and re-pushed again.
I think my solution is reasonable, though ugly, and probably a regex that
makes sense should go there. This will at least do the right thing in
most cases. If collection starts with a number, there is no graceful
failure, so the trick of styling that way will just fail....
And the bad assignment habit is fixed here.
