One more thing in this domain: I noticed that contrary to gitweb, cgit
does not exposes lightweight tags when you clone. This seems
reasonable, but since our vX.Y.Z release tags came basically from the
CVS conversion, they were not signed, and are kind of invisible in cgit
clones now (while were nicely visible in direct clones).

I think I shall force-update vX.Y.Z tags to solve this issue; it would
be nice to have them signed anyway. It is something that should rather
not be done, but I guess we have a good reason to do that, and we are
not moving the tags around, only signing them. So please bear with me
and please don't be surprised if you see some force update upon tags
next time you run `git fetch --tags'.

Ideally, you can just delete all your local tags and fetch the new ones
when you switch to cgit. I guess I'll force-push the new tags shortly.
I'll ping you.

Best regards
