It does, which is why `xmlmarc2textmarc' has a special `--aleph-marc'
CLI switch that generates basically the following:

   123456789 FMT   L BK
   123456789 LDR   L ^^^^^nam^^22^^^^^^a^4500
   123456789 008   L ^^^^^^s^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^r^^^^^000^0^eng^d

As Samuele said, we don't make much use of leader in Aleph, we simply
generate some generic value to satisfy the system.
