I could be misunderstanding your question, but if you are asking how to theme some of the _templates files, then you can continue. If that wasn't your question I'm sorry for misunderstanding, and you can ignore me.
CFG_WEBSTYLE_TEMPLATE_SKIN is what controls the skinning. Say you are going to write a SesameStreet style.
