*EXPERIENCE*

*1. Development of n-tier applications in a JAVA/JEE environment. *

*2. Working knowledge of and experience in creating UML diagrams such as
class diagrams, sequence diagrams, use case models, activity diagrams,
deployment diagrams, and statechart diagrams.*

*3. Development of Java based Web Services and exposure to JAX-WS/JAXB.*

*4. Skill and experience actively working with XML or XML Schema.*

*5. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills for documenting
architectures and designs, and interacting with various technical and
business stakeholders.*

*ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS*

*1. Experience in the use of Source Code Management systems, with Subversion
experience preferred.*

*2. Experience in the use of build tools, such as Ant, Maven, and Hudson.*

*3. Experience with IBM DataPower XI-50 appliance to implement web services
security, and for transformations and routing.*

*4. Experience with leading development teams in following full software
life-cycle methodologies, such as RUP and Agile.*

*5. Experience with ORM tools, such as Hibernate and JPA.*

*6. Experience with IBM Message Broker.*

*7. Experience with JSR168, JSR268 portlet standards and/or JSF.*

*8. Experience in implementing systems using JMS.*

*9. Experience using XSL style sheets.*

*10. Experience in building web applications using tools such as Struts,
JSF, JSP, JavaScript, AJAX or CSS.*

*11. Experience with Business Process Monitoring, Business Process Execution
Language concepts/annotations/tool-sets.*

*12. Experience with Service Oriented Architecture concepts/tools/etc.*

*Initial Project Description: (Assignments may be changed based on business
priorities)*

*The client has a multi-agency project initiated to achieve the objectives
of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act. The project consists of
several goals concerned with collecting and dissemination of current and
accurate criminal and mental health information that is necessary to
determine eligibility for gun ownership.*

*The project consists of several initiatives, which collect data from
multiple agencies and transmit it to eligible federal and state law
enforcement agencies, as well as use it to expand and correct the client’s
own records.*

*The primary responsibilities of this technical architect will be to:*

*• Quickly get up to speed on application development standards,
technologies, and SDLC.*

*• Work with the various stakeholders, internally and externally, to develop
standards based solutions that satisfy the overall requirements.*

*• Lead the analysis and design activity consistent with the client’s
standards in collaboration with various stakeholders.*

*• Document the architectures, and designs, in accordance with the client’s
standard practices.*

*• Implement the designed solutions, including SOAP based web services,
EJB’s, Portlets, and other components as required.*

*• Under the guidance of the client’s architecture team, ensure that the
team follows SDLC, and that all required artifacts are generated.*

*NOTE: This is a hands-on architect position. The candidate must have the
ability and willingness to engage in development activities.*
