Job Title: Data Modeler Location: Boston, MA Duration: 1-2 Years Contract In-Person Interview is Must. Candidate must be local to MA/RI/NH. Position Summary: The individual will perform data modeling tasks on department-scale report repository development projects. S/he will be responsible for translating business requirements into delivered data marts in support of hospital cost reports and registered provider organizations. Responsibilities Design mid-scale logical data models for departmental reporting applications. Translate business requirements into logical data models, including reviewing existing reports to determine an optimal supporting data model. Design flexible data structures to support current and future business needs. Work closely with the database administration team to deploy the logical models as physical database structures. Support the implementation and testing of the data structures and associated reporting applications. Fully document all data models and associated support / maintenance procedures. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to design and implement logical/physical data models for reporting applications. Minimum 5 years of experience on data modeling projects. Experience with ERwin or comparable data modeling software. Experience modeling normalized and dimensional data structures. Strong knowledge of the principles of RDBMS and related data experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: verbal, written, and presentation. Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.
