*Job Role: Database Administrator – Both Oracle and SQL Server* *Location:* *Minneapolis, MN* *Duration: Long Term* *Local candidates only.* *Job Description:* The successful candidate will bring their Oracle and SQL Server skills to bear on in-house software development and customer-facing software implementation projects. The positions reports to the Chief Technical Officer and provides services to the IDS Development, Professional Services, Support and Sales teams. On development projects, the DBA will work closely with software engineers and architects to build elegant and high-performing software products. On customer assignments, the DBA will operate as a consultant on billable product implementation, enhancement, integration, and conversion projects. Within IDS, the DBA will be called on to be a subject matter expert for database technology in general and the application of this technology on IDS products in particular. IDS is looking for a highly capable, technical expert that is eager to take on a variety of challenges. *Qualifications:* *Experience/Education* - Requires a BS/BA in related discipline and 5-8+ years of experience, or MS/MA in related discipline and 3-5+ years of experience - Professional certification is preferred, especially in *Oracle 11c or 12g* - Advanced knowledge of *Oracle and SQL Server databases* *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* - Experience with *modern HA and DR solutions for Oracle and SQL Server are a plus* - Advanced technical knowledge in database development methodologies, design, coding and implementation - Working knowledge of shell script (Python, Perl, ksh, Windows) or more advanced programming languages (Java, C#, C++) - Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle, including specification, documentation and quality assurance - Primary contribution is in applying knowledge (product, industry, professional, technical) doing individual contributor work - Ability to serve effectively as a liaison between IDS and customers’ IT staff members - Proficient knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Linux - Specialized knowledge and expertise in any of the following areas is desired: - Experience working with large financial institutions with general knowledge of their IT data centers, and security requirements - General knowledge of accounting principles, especially as they relate to equipment finance - Knowledge in the use of Extract, Transform and Load software to move bulk data between enterprise systems - Knowledge of enterprise reporting solutions such as Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Pentaho, etc. - Experience with IDS software solutions - Knowledge of integration technologies such as web services, enterprise messaging, etc. - Knowledge of older database technologies such UniData *Teamwork and Leadership:* - Oversees the completion of projects or assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc - Plans and organizes own workload / resources and that of others to ensure responsibilities and commitments are performed to agreed upon standards, targets, and time scales Regards, Rahul Agarwal TRG Inc.
