Role: Mainframe Developer Duration: About 7+ months Location: NYC, NY Need Only GC/USC MANDATORY • BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred. • Basic familiarity with Mainframe systems and IBM z/OS • 6-8 years of hands-on development expertise using COBOL/CICS/JCL on MVS/VSAM based Mainframe systems. • Ability to develop business requirements and estimate for delivery commitments. • Exceptional written communication, oral presentation, and leadership skills. • Experience with TSO/ISPF, WebConnect, VTAM/SNA and RACF security. • Experience in workload processing and system performance metrics. • Familiarity with at least one relational database management system (MS-SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL/DB2). • Familiarity with Microsoft Client/Server and Web-based application development • Strong analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills. • Willingness to learn new technologies in order to perform tasks at hand. • Proficiency with Waterfall, RUP and Agile SDLC processes. • Team player who can establish excellent working relationships with peers and other teams. • Utilize application development environments, tools and methodologies across multiple platforms. • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications. DESIRABLE: • Technically proficient in more than one language and platform. • Experience in ADABAS/Natural legacy Mainframe systems. • Development knowledge on Microsoft .NET or OpenSource technologies • Expertise and knowledge of building large-scale asset management systems. • Experience with version control and release management principles. • Prior experience in federal/state/local government projects.
