Summary: Set up a dedicated remote backup facility
Original Submission: Gna! is currently backup'ed both locally and remotely.
The local backup strives to keep an up-to-date mirror of Gna!, while the remote
one is expected to keep the longest possible backlog in case of late security
breach and forensic analysis needs.
Today the remote backup is hosted on a shared machine generously lent by
Mekensleep. Gna! uses >100GB, which is more than 80% of their ressources.
I will work with Loïc to build a dedicated backup machine with some spare
hardware bits and a handfull of modern, cheap and big IDE disks. This facility
would be dedicated to FSF France backup needs in general.

It is almost complete. Actually the script are finally working great, but I had
not the time to install the dedicated hardware. Now that we have optimized the
backup sizes, it's not an urgent matter, though I'll try to have it up and
running in 2 weeks.
I'm not considering this issue a show stopper for more development on Gna!.
However we have another problem: holidays and sysadmin shortage ! :)

Hello,
actually the backup has been working fine for a few weeks now, but it's not
running on its final hardware. The remote facility is currently a shared
machine where we have 90GB, I still have to install a dedicated one with 160GB
RAID1. I'll try to have this done during next week.
