Hello,

1) Theses list are not restricted in such way because such restriction is
usually a pain in the ass for the admin that have to manually filter spam.

The spam on the list you mentionned is considerably low (only a few spam not
caught per month) plus the important thing is that we do not trash
automatically any spam, we only trash the one with high score. The others, we
let go but flagged with their spamscore, so users can easily set and use
their own threshold.

2) However, normally, the [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] list cannot
be
spammed, as your mailserver is configured to accept incoming mail only for
our own SVN/CVS boxes.
So I think your spam catcher got something wrong. You can check these, as
for example : https://mail.gna.org/public/elv-commits/2005-10/index.html
the mail sent to these list are SVN/CVS commit messages. They are all legit
non spam.

Bye,
and thanks for your attention ! :)
