Hey, While I think of it: > [Gna!] is up-to-date and can work stably as-is for the next 2-3 years.
With a note: Vincent said we need to move from VServer to LXC before the end of life of Debian Squeeze next February (because the base host is still running that version - everything else is Jessie). > fusionforge: ditto I feel this warrants a little development. Full disclosure: I've been paid to work on FusionForge for 18 months. (won't last much longer though) At this occasion I attempted to get volunteers using Savane to merge it with FusionForge (on my free time, not part of the job). I saw that the forge community was running out of volunteers and couldn't gather enough momentum. Still, I started a migration script: http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/savane-cleanup.git/tree/sv2ff/ which I didn't complete due to lack of external involvement. FusionForge itself evolved quite a lot, handles concurrent SSH and HTTPS repo access while maintaining Unix-user privilege separation, is packaged in Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora, has a fully automated install integrating all components including mail system, has instant system actions (no crons), is running large public instances such as http://gforge.inria.fr and http://adullact.net , as well internal ones. Among interesting features for public forges is Mediawiki farming. It's also run in a consortium way, with multiple equal parties involved. I encourage you to check it out and make your own unbiaised opinion :P > What do you think about such concept? I don't think yet another isolated forge software is going to do any good. (been there, done that ;)) I think asynchronous operations, when people are now used to within-the-second reactivity, will put them off. > > This is a nice idea, sure, though we're all hundreds of kilometers > > away from each others and with limited time. > > Are you far from Paris? Hundreds of kilometers :) > > Would you could come to > > the FOSSa event this month, that's the next Free Software event? > > Depends on the date and location. https://fossa.inria.fr/ I guess the meeting will probably be impromptu someday.
