There you read: "512 MB RAM, 1 GB or more recommended" but it won't build with 512MB RAM. It failed for me with 512MB, time after time, then I borrowed another 512MB RAM module for testing from my sisters notebook, and everything worked. I am currently rewriting part III (msvc download/install) of my fathers step by step documentation for Windows users, with lots of images, to guide them to success.
