Maybe it's like cursing in the church, but you could consider using another usenet-client. I myself like Xnews <http://xnews.newsguy.com/> very much, but you could also use some client like free agent<http://www.forteinc.com/agent/faq.php#B213D649E11C2B26852571C000109992> ... And AFAIK it's against usenetiquette to change subject-lines, because it causes threading problems for some clients.
