I, too, vote for bumping forums up the priority list. I've had to use
invisionfree.com for free forum hosting for the last several years. Although
inivisionfree.com is better than no forums and mozdev's notes, it still leaves
a lot to be desired (e.g., very sporadic email notification of new
threads/replies). However, I've yet to find anything better and free.
PasswordMaker forums use SMF (Simple Machines Forums) hosted for free by the
kindness of aeshells.org. This is a one-off solution that wouldn't scale for
all mozdev :)

Forums can definitely be added back to the roadmap -- they just got bumped
down in priority due to the other bugs (its bug#10166). We (Mozdev) can talk
about getting this moved back up on the list.

Right; so getting blogging capability added to the CMS at Mozdev was one of
the items in the highest priority so we can start "spreading the word" so to
speak from mozdev.org.

For now I'll keep posting to my blog; when blogs are available on Mozdev.org
everyone here will be sure to be notified so you can start watching there.
