Splitting up might have been a strong term for it, but I was thinking of 
  having dedicated area's for developers (project owners) and end-user, 
but if someone knows a better way... I'm all ears.

All cool features for project owners and the like, but non of them will 
improve the way we and others navigate the website, right?

You seem to agree with Robert about the navigational bits, so I guess 
that we all got a wake up call, including me.  I never looked at 
mozdev.org in terms of end-users, as if they hit our project website at 
once, which was wrong thinking of course.
