Yes David,
that's great ; can we put together a mini task list for the Wiki:
http://www.mozdev.org/drupal/wiki/Mozdev-Transition-Roles-Takeover
We need to document some of the following daily / weekly tasks; I am
willing to put up a FAQ
OTTOMH:
1. Resending Passwords to Project Owners (I think this was the most
frequent request)
2. New Project Requests
2a) (is there a standard) Procedure for requesting additional
information
2b) Acknowledging of new project - Setting up users / project stub for
a new project
2c) Rejection of projects (is there a standard email text, or should
one be created if this is not the case)
-- on the side is it possible to create some standard emails from
drupal?
-- also I think the description box for new projects needs to be
increased (multiline textbox) and possibly some more validation added
to avoid spam?
3. Removing (or hibernating) Projects?
4. How to remove owners from their Projects (on their request)
5. which steps are necessary to allow project adoption
wouldn't it make sense to describe (or roughly outline) these steps
first so that the admins know what to do, similar to the AMO-Editors
list.
As regards open requests, is there a list / queue that can be accessed
or is it just through emails?
thanks
Axel

Now that we have a set of tasks that we can use as a walk
through for people interested in taking over running the site, I'm
happy to transfer the knowledge I have. The first thing we should do
is document all open requests so we can work through them -- if that
means just looking at messages on the feedback@ list, opening bugs or
putting requests on a wiki is something that should be decided by the
people looking to take over responsibility for things.
David
I think the problem is that whoever was in charge hasn't got to do a
handover to the new guys on the list. I will do my share from next
weekend (holiday coming up) if somebody can explain to me (and
preferably put some notes on the Wiki) what to do in the particular
cases. We can only take the site over if we know about the mechanisms.
There are some people who want to take responisbility for the various
tasks on the Wiki (I have repeatedly posted its URL) but without any
relevant information (or pointers to it) my hands are tied
sorry

I also have been waiting to know if it is possible to restore a mailman
admin password. Is there anyone on this list who knows how to restore
the mailman admin password for MP4Downloader, or if it is even possible?
I wouldn't even mind if the MP4Downloader list was deleted. It is never
used and I just keep receiving annoying daily moderator notifications.
Thanks,
Jake

I am currently dealing with complaints in #extdev about not getting a
reply after two weeks.
And there are several other requests.

<jterrace> jorgev: I did, to feedback@ and project_owners@, no response
<jorgev> when?
<jterrace> almost 2 weeks ago
<jorgev> ugh
<jterrace> another person emailed me and said he was in the same boat,
it doesnt seem like anyone is dealing with administrative issues on the
site right now
<jorgev> I guess you should try contacting eric jung or brian king...
but yeah, I think mozdev is dying at the moment
<jterrace> heh, i did contact eric jung, he forwarded my email to a
number of admins about a week ago, no response either
#mozdev
<jterrace> I have a project, named firecoral, that I've been trying to
get deleted or have the mailing list password restored, because there is
a pending spam email
on the mailing list, so I get a reminder every day
<jterrace> I've sent an email to feedback@ and posted on projectowners
without any luck, anyone here that can help me out?
Phil
