Prabanjan – you do not say what version of Chrono you are using.
The ability to initialize an SCM patch from a mesh has been in there for a
while. A demo that illustrates that is also available in the latest
development code in the git ‘main’ branch.
To do that, use the appropriate
SCMTerrain::Initialize<https://github.com/projectchrono/chrono/blob/cd091cca25686fdcbc6db68ce650894e7b825b7c/src/chrono_vehicle/terrain/SCMTerrain.h#L256>
 function.
The latest
demo_VEH_SCMTerrain_WheeledVehicle<https://github.com/projectchrono/chrono/blob/main/src/demos/vehicle/terrain/demo_VEH_SCMTerrain_WheeledVehicle.cpp>
 illustrates initialization of an SCM deformable terrain patch as a flat
rectangle, or from an OBJ mesh, or from a BMP height-map.

Subject: [chrono] Deformable surface from obj file

Dear Community,

I have a .obj file of a terrain. I would like to create a deformable SCM
surface that fits this .obj file shape. Is it possible to do? I cant find any
examples for this specific purpose.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Prabanjan
