Hi,

To my knowledge, Chrono is designed as a multibody system dynamics
simulation software. It indeed supports static, dynamic and modal analyses
for finite element models, but not as dedicated to FEA as ANSYS, ABAQUS,
also we do not have an interface to pre- / post-processing tools, such as
Hypermesh.

In the newly developed ChModalAssembly module, I am still hesitant whether
we should develop an interface to input finite element mesh from other
tools for those complex geometries, and then do modal reduction,
alternatively, whether we should support importing modal reduced models
from FEA packages, like in ADAMS or Simpack. The bottleneck is always human
resource and funding.
