Kuten ulkoministeri Erkki Tuomiojan tänään antamassa lausunnossa todetaan, presidentti Martti Ahtisaari ja Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) ovat valmistelleet neuvotteluyhteyden aikaansaamista Indonesian hallituksen ja vapaa Aceh -liikkeen (GAM) välille. Osapuolten tapaaminen pyritään järjestämään Helsingissä tulevan viikon loppupuolella. Tapaamisen arkaluontoisuudesta johtuen ja myönteisen keskusteluilmapiirin luomiseksi Presidentti Ahtisaari ja CMI eivät halua tässä vaiheessa kommentoida tapaamisen yksityiskohtia. Asiasta tiedotetaan tapaamisen jälkeen osapuolten sopimalla tavalla. PRESS RELEASE As noted in the statement by Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja earlier today, President Martti Ahtisaari and the Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) have been engaged in preparations to re-establish a dialogue between the Government of Indonesian and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM). The parties will meet in Helsinki towards the end of the coming week. Because of the sensitivity of the meeting and in order to create a conducive atmosphere, President Ahtisaari and the CMI will not comment the details of the meeting at this stage.
