TNI not extend investigation of arms cache

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Military (TNI) Chief Marshal Djoko Suyanto
has said that the investigation of arms cache involving the late Brigadier
General Koesmayadi would not be extended.

The results of the investigation would be evaluated and followed up, Marshal
Djoko Suyanto said here on Monday after receiving a citation of Bintang Yudha
Dharma Utama from Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono.

The Indonesian Military has concluded the investigation of the discovery of
weapons and arms cache at Koesmayadi`s homes, just a couple of days after the
brigadier general passed away last June 25.

"The investigation did not decide who is guilty, but it questioned 132 people
believed to be aware of the arms cache," said Suyanto.

TNI would evaluate the results of the investigation in the next couple of days,
and would follow it up legally, he said.

Based on the investigation, it was discovered that there had been six supplies
of arms into Indonesia, among other things from Singapore, during the period of
May 2003 and March 2006.

The late Brigadier General Koesmayadi among other things had signed an import
order of 60 non-standard military weapons.

The results of the investigation would be made known to the public next
Wednesday (Aug. 9).
