A 6billion yuan bank note The 6bil yuan note A currency note, released by the then China government in 1949, has the world's largest face value of six billion yuan. On the front, the note has Dr Sun Yat-Sen's picture printed on it and the words "Xinjiang Province Bank". At the back is the picture of the bank's building. Although the note has a face value of six billion, it was printed during Xinjiang's most serious inflation period. At that time, this money was just enough to buy some 75-grain of rice in Shanghai. It is learnt that the note was only used for about six months in 1949. The note, and other artefacts, is current displayed at the "Sun Yat-sen and the Chinese Currencies" exhibition in Guangzhou, China.
